Getting things geared up again - we're talking trail routes, IMBA workshop, and Hillso Dedication.  The next six months is going to be critical.

The more I consider it,  the idea of restoring the five flowing streams* mentioned by the conquistadors is crucial in the recovery of the Zuni Mts to their real beauty. It is my observation that this process is beginning already as the pressure of logging, grazing, and other extractive uses starts to lessen. One reason for this is the trend towards development of private holdings in ways which value large trees and grasses and flowers over the comparatively meager income provided by extractive uses. I am convinced that when those five streams flow again prosperity will also start to flow to those who live around the mountain, as in times past.

*Bluewater Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Rio Nutria, Rio Pescado, and Cebolla Creek, is my take on the five flowing streams.

Come out to the Trail Planning Workshops in June!

The 3rd winter in a row with great snowfall has me thinking it would be possible to groom a skate ski trail here at the McGaffey Lake area. Maybe a winter rec area.

Do trailheads require a parking lot?
